About Us

Patricia L. Smith is the owner of this accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation company. She has over 35 years of experience in tax preparation and has been working in bookkeeping for the past 14 years with 2 of those being for an ambulance service where she worked as the bookkeeper and an Emergency Medical Technician. In 2014, Patricia suffered a shoulder injury that put an end to her EMT career. She knew of only one way she could continue to help people was to go back to school and get a degree. So, in May of 2015, Patricia went to Belmont College in St. Clairsville, Ohio. 



In May of 2016, she received her Associate Degree in Applied Business for Accounting and moved to Mississippi to accept a position in a CPA firm. After 3 years of working with the CPA firm, she decided to move back to Ohio and started Lighthouse Accounting, LLC. While trying to get her company started, she worked for H & R Block as a Senior Tax Specialist for 3 years before accepting an Office Supervisor position with Liberty Tax in Weirton, West Virginia. Patricia worked with Liberty Tax for 2 years when she met her husband and moved to Pennsylvania. To commemorate the new direction in their life together, the business name was changed to PD Accounting, Inc.

Patricia is always learning ways to help clients with their business needs and explain the work to clients in an easily understood manner. Patricia knows the stress of starting and building a business. Sometimes, it is difficult to know or understand all the legalities required to operate a business. From the start, Patricia will help her clients through the process. From Federal and State requirements to Local and School District requirements, Patricia is there to help. Of course, she is not all work. 

Patricia enjoys working with her clients and treats them like family. Clients are greeted with a welcoming smile and a relaxing atmosphere. Although Patricia is a perfectionist, and it shows in her work, she also has a humorous side. When things are stressful, just a little laughter can help.
